Brake balance - help
Seems as if Mr SVA was generous in passing my car on the basis the front pads "haven't bedded in".
It uses new solid Escort Mk 1/2 discs with new M16 two pot calipers at the front and 8" Cortina drums at the back.
The pedals are pendulum Escort with crude balance bar (also came with the car) set to longest push to the new front 0.625 diam m/c and shortest to the
new rear 0.75 m/c.
The bias still seems to be to the rear. My gut-feel is that the rear drums are over-sized for the job.
Question is - should I fit a bias valve to the rear circuit or change master cylinders by going up one size on each?
Any help/advice appreciated.
Cheers, Pewe

If the balance bar is set with the longer side to the front M/C then the majority of the effort will be going to the rear M/C. I would adjust
accordingly......

I doubt that very much. A huge number of 7 type kit cars use 8 inch drums at the back.
I think the problem is with the bias bar - buton power catalogue, and maybe their web site go into some detail on how to set it up.

Exactly what I was about to say - adjust the balance bar and all will be fine

Set it dead central for starters -- then experiment with caution road testing at low speed on a good clean dry surface. Adjust one turn at a time.
Move the pivot bearing towards the mastercylinder you want to get more braking from.

Thanks guys. I'll try small adjustments this weekend, providing the weather's OK - some hope at the moment.
