Spring diameter?

What difference does the spring diameter make? looking at coilovers you can get them in varying spring diameter..... does it make any diffence or do you just buy whichever will fit?

isnt it just so that you get the correct size to fit on your dampers?

Its the size of the dampers that makes the difference for bigger heavier vehicles, since you can get the same spring rating with different diamater of springs

Think of the spring as a wound torsion bar – if the wire diameter stays the same as does the pitch of the coils, then a larger spring diameter means a longer bar and thus a softer spring

The 1.9s are lighter than 2.25s if you are paranoid about weight.

Must try harder
