rack&pinion problem probably?

hey,guys--need a real soon opinion. building a "BOOK" locost and just realized the geo metro rack&pinion i was so happy with operates behind the spindles to crank the steering the right direction. am using 4A-GE/1994 corrola driveline with the engine/tranny split on front of firewall crossmember and block btm. joint 2" above frame rail. Is there enough room to use it or do i need to start looking again? thanx
