Tin top brake squeel (Brembo)
My neighbour has a seat which he has fitted Brembo calipers with DS2500 pads, he is getting brake squeel after the pads/discs have warmed up... he
wonders if this is normal ?

i used ds2500 pads on my 200sx, and i never suffered from any squeal with my brakes.
has he got drilled / grooved discs? has he tried buffing up his discs to make sure there is no brake material stuck to it?

copper grease on the back of the pads normally cures brake squeal.

Discs not cross drilled or grooved, i suggested copperslip behind pads but thats already been tried.
I'm thinking if it only happens once brakes have been used a bit and warmed up then the pads are rattling about, i havnt had a look myself but
i'm wondering if Brembos have a kind of pad retaining clip/spring and its either isnt fitted properly/broken or just not there.

I've asked around and it does seem the DS2500 pads are the issue by a majority.

In my experience with Brembo brakes, if you do not fit the anti squeel shims they will squeel like pigs!
I used to drive behind busses deliberately in my old Evo 6 which had DS2500s so people would think the noise came from the bus and not my car!
Then I discovered that the calliper was designed to work with anti squeel shims which are thin metal covers for the backin pad plates. A nice helping
of copper grease and the shims should do the job.
If the callipers do not use the above shims then just copper grease I guess.

Yep, they suffer badly from squeal. After I put new Mintex discs and pads on mine I was honestly embarrassed to use the brakes in traffic it was that
bad.
There is a chap on the amusingly named FCCUK forum who sells laser cut shims to fit between the piston and pad.
When fitted with liberal quantities of copper grease, these eliminate or at least dramatically reduce squealing. Mine just starting to squeal again
after about 12,000 miles, so time to clean them up and re-grease I think.
