Brake Problems
Well after a fun day yesterday trying to get my bloody back brakes working proply I have given up and im a bit stuck.
I have always had problems with my rear brakes I had to bleed them at the SVA then noticed the otherday it seemed to be the fron doing all the
braking/locking up) so yesterday I went to bleed them again and all i can get out is alot of air with fluid mixed in on both sides!!!
I have chacked:
- The union
- The braded hoses
- The link pipes between the m/c and resevoir
and they are all bone dry I would expect them to be seeping if they were letting air in?
so any suggestions?
stupid question but could i have contaminated fluid? if so then the fronts probly arnt working proply
or could it be a dead M/C
The setup i have is dual M/C sharing 1 resevoir running copper line to a union then copper to the edge of the car and braided hoses to the calipers

Sierra rear brakes are a bu88er to bleed, especially with twin master cylinders.
Take the calipers off and hold them up higher than your resvoir and bleed them again, should work.

Take care you're not opening the nipples too much!
I put 5lt of fluid through my front callipers and was still getting lots of air... couldn't undertand it!
Turned out having the nipples opened too much meant it was sucking air in through the threads of the nipple and then out through the nipple hole with
some of the fluid.
I only realised this when I gave and tightened the nipple up. Came back later and only opened it a tiny amount... cured the problem and brakes then
ok!

When bleeding the rears spin them round - nipple to the top... put an 3/8" bit of plate between the pads and then of you go!
It sounds very much like a dead M.C. though...

I doubt it very much if contaminated wold actually contain air!
You can get air into the system if you use fluid that has just been pumped out - I do this as long as it is clean and has no air bubbles without any
problems.

Eezibleed will help a lot when bleeding and the tip about unbolting the calipers will hep you get more air out
However you should only need to bleed your brakes once and the front rear balance shouldn't wander about something else is wrong tell us more
about the mastercylinder setup you are using.

Cheers Guys,
I have a floor mounted pedal box with a .65 and .75 M/Cs I have put the bias as far to the rear as possable for bleeding.
I didnt have any rear braking at the SVA bled them in the car park and it passed the test again yesterday when I tested the rear i had none again. I
have the calipers on so the nipples are already at the top
I will get an ezee bleed and see if it improves matters otherwise I will get a new M/C and see if it improves
