Size of a differential?

Hey guys, finally getting around to designing my chassis, was wondering if anyone could supply my with an average size for a differential unit?
Also what do you guys reckon a good ground clearance is? I was thinking about 10cm, but since the bodyshell's got a front overhand of about 90cm it's gonna need a raising/lowering mech! Would 20 cm clear most things?
Cheers guys,
Badger

mine should be about 9cm, so reckon you'll be good with 10. theres a car in greenock, with about 8cm clearance, his front bumper is a bit chipped, but not broken, so i guess he does alright

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Don't know if you have many speed bumps near you but that might be worth considering. I think (might be wrong) legally they must be less than 10cm but most are now built at 7.5cm due to grounding problems on the higher ones.

Don't know about diff sizes though
