Nice work.... tell me, why did you go for the Tran-x and not a Quaife ATB? How hard was the strip down and rebuild? Are you rebuilding the entire
axle at the same time? I ask, as this is one of my jobs after SVA....

I had a Tran-X diff inmy old Calibra redtop with an F28 6 speed box from a turbo, converted to Fwd. It had the option to fix it at 40% or 90% lock.
Can't remember which setting I had it on, but I found it to be a bit harsh, and very on/off and 'bitey'. I decided to change it for
a Quaife diff later on, and although it was a bit smoother, I don't think it performed as well.
Having said that, it was only 170bhp and front wheel drive, so I don't know how much of an impact it would have in a 7 or similar....
Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity!

If you get the pre-load wrong(to high)it can induce understeer in a light car.

my experiance i would have gone quafe atb the tran-x is a harsh noisy lsd when it locks the noise sounds as if u have snaped the rear axle
some people dream of sucsess, others just get on and do it !!

Basically when you turn a corner the outside wheel has to rotate over a greater distance than the inner.
The LSD by it's nature is trying to stop this difference in rotaion speeds. Make the plate preloads to high and the LSd will be so tight that it
will just push the car straight on no matter how tight you turn the front wheels. (Imagine) a pram with all 4 wheels on the ground and your trying to
turn a corner with it without pushing the handle down and lifting the front wheels,
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.
