Sierra 'push-in' shafts / steering rack ?

I found these while clearing out the garage:

I think they are off my dads old sierra 2.0 pinto estate (I must have been about 9 years old when he sold it!)
other wise they came from a 1.8 CVH one (which he sold when I was 16)

so either way they've been there a while

the driveshafts are ~27mm dia. in the midle of the shaft itself
and ~28mm dia. on the splines where they fit into the diff

so what else do I need to check to find out what they are?

if its not a sierra one, it could be a cortina one, he had a few of them too
but it could be from almost anything :?

in the past I've found a dead cortina back axle, a dead talbot sunbeam back axle, a 2.0 pinto, pre-historic SU carbs, alfa hubcaps, talbot 90 gearboxes and about 40+ wheels (inc 1 set of origonal 10" mini cooper steels )
and loads of other bits for roots group, pug/talbot and ford cars.........

all my donor cars have been granada's or XR4x4, so all have bolt-on shafts and power steering - which means I've nothing to compare them to.......
