Citroen / Peugeot Rear Caliper Problems

Hi all

I'm trying to sort out the rear brakes on my Saxo ready for the Epynt Hillclimb this weekend. Since I've had the car, the rear discs have been a problem. I had new discs and pads fitted when I had it MOTd but the caliper pistons were cruddy as hell and were impossible to wind in (they're the type where the piston turns to adjust and the handbrake mechanism turns them too)

So, I've put reconditioned calipers on but one side (nearside) doesn't wind in at all - I'm not sure if one side winds one way and the other the other!

Anybody able to help??

Ta

Wyn

Not handed on either my Xantia or Xsara, both clockwise to wind them in. Pushing them in while you turn can help.

You need to push and turn at the same time!

Sorted!

They were wound in all the way so wouldn't go any further! The lug on the back of the pad wasn't sitting squarely in the slot in the piston so the pad was slightly off the piston face. Hopefully that's it!

Just need to bleed them :-)
