Brake Specialist South East?
short story. have a tiger with uprated discs alround. 285 4 pots on front, 273(? have to check sure that i increased size from old 253 sierra discs)
rears - all hi-spec. using mondeo MC with proportioning valve on the rears. no matter how the p/vavle is adjusted rears wont lock before fronts, pedal
is very firm - making me wonder if in reality i've got the right/best set up in terms of MC etc to get the most out of the brakes. Wondering if
anyone knows of a brake specialist in the south east who could look at what i've got and make recoomendation/do any work needed. Personally am a
technical muppet - so this is way beyond my ability. chrs mark

surely you don't want the rears to lock before the fronts, do you??

What P/Valve have you got? I tried a Fiat one and it didn't work. I know Ben Copeland had the same issue. It may be the valve thats causing the
issue?
As above though,,,, you really don't want the backs locking up before the fronts!
In my experience 54% to 58% front bias is a good balance.

as above, the front must lock before the rears otherwise you will lock the rears and spin off and crash

I think Mark's point is that the rears won't lock no matter how you adjust the valve - not that he actually wants them to do so when
he's finished fiddling.

thx Dan, thats exactly what i meant! the Prop valve is a Hi-Spec item. i had assumed that fittng the better rears could potentially cause a lock up,
hence fitting the valve. so to my poor logic - that either means that: the fronts are that good that the rears will never lock, or that possibly other
parts of the system are holding back the potential braking capabilities of both circuits??? having invested in the better calipers etc i'd like
to check that i'm getting the most out of them. so question stands, anyone know a specialist in the SEast that could be able to look at
them??
thx
