Metric Ford wheel studs fit in place of 7/16" unf studs but seem to remember they are M11 not M12. if you need extra extra long ones Yukspeed sell them.

As for 18mm threads buy a Sykes-Pickavant spark plug chaser 6 quid even from Halfords -- very handy tool to have also fits 14mm plugs and Lambda probe bosses.

cheers for the tip on the spark plugs.

i thought there was a slight difference in the studs, but was hoping to just force in the M12 to have the same size on all studs.

If it's any help, I put Sierra studs in my cortina hubs.

Sierra studs are 12mm, if you need longer ones Trackstore sell them for £1.00 each.

Be aware that the tap you need is 18mm x 1.5 fine ISTR that spark plugs are 18mm x 1.0.

Cheers

Chris

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

18mm Spark plugs are actually 18x1.5

(for anybody interested the 14mm size is 14x1.25)

M18 x 1.5 definite

I used one to clean mine last week and are deffo 1.5 pitch. I had to grind some of the nut off in the middle to get the depth but it worked o.k.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
