Brake/hub conundrum
Flicking through the Luegos history I've found it has two parents, a 1981 1.6 Escort and a 1981 2.0 Sierra. Now the reg came from the Escort, as
I'm assuming did the crossflow but I'm unsure as to which other bits came from which car. The reason I need to know is we're
planning a brake upgrade over the winter (currently disks front, drums rear). I'd always assumed the hubs were from the Escort, now I'm
not so sure, is there any way to confirm which car the hubs came off as I assume that will change the brake kit we need to order, was thinking of
Wilwood Powerlites but can't see them advertised for a Sierra

I'm guessing that it'll be Sierra Front end, as the escort FWD hubs woudnt be much use.

Thanks for the replies chaps (why do I always forget Rally Design, I'd only checked the Burton catalogue). Anyway I may have to call in the
Locost CID on this, now the facts as I know them
Luego has an E reg plate (Aug 88 - Jul 89)
Sierra was E reg
Can't find any documentation for the Escort apart from a letter from the Ford Technical Information Centre, answering a query on the engine
serial number, quote 'engine serial number ......... relates to an engine fitted into a vehicle in February 1980'.
Think I've got the wrong end of the stick, think it's Sierra based, now thinking only the engine came from the Escort, doh! I thought it
was Escort based, probably answers my original question, surprising what you can find when you read stuff.

That's assuming that they are from the assumed 2.0 Sierra donor - on mine I have 8" drums from a 1.6 Sierra on the rear and vented disks
from a 2.0 Sierra on the front. I bought the kit and donor parts from someone who had barely started and only realised that the rear drums were from a
1.6 when I needed to replace a brake cylinder.
