best/cheapest place to buy SS crush tubes
Evening all,
Just a quick one. Where's the best place to buy SS crush tubes to suit an MK Indy? It appears that there isn't a standard size tube
available and that I will have to get some modified/made to suit the 3/4" OD and 1/2" ID. Who can do this the cheapest and quickest? I
appreciate the two may not be the same!

Have you tried MK themselves?
IIRC they're just bits of stock tube cut on a band saw (mine certainly weren't turned items).

If you make them use a Cobalt drill and a Lathe.

The ones on my car are from MK and they're mild steel, as I thought they still are. I'll give them a try on Monday though.

Sorry - you're right the MK supplied ones are/were mild steel.
Are you looking to replace these with stainless ones then?

Yup. Having mild steel ones may have helped contribute to my recent wishbones problems, and since I'm replacing the bones, I may as well do it
all properly!

Suspect that some of the wishbone failures reported on the site may be due to the crush tubes being too short.

That and that I didn't realise how corroded they were is, I think, a good part of why the bone failed the way it did.
