Fitting my shocks

I was trial fitting my polybushed Protech shocks the other day and I noticed that the shock mounting brackets on my wishbones and chassis are a bit wider than the bushes themselves (approx 2mm). Is it normal to have to space the bushes out with a washer either side, or have I got the incorrect width of bush?

On some cars I’ve seen, it looks like the polybush fills the entire width of the mounting bracket.

MK's are the same, washers needed (2mm is not to much, larger and a machined spacer would be better, but i used washers!)..
