Rally design bushes - dimensions
I just called rally design about their PB122 poly bushes.....
Dimensions I was given were 46mm overall length, 28.8mm diameter, 1/2 inch bore.
Now I cant help feeling that this bush must be a modern replacement for some nasty old rubber bush from an imperial car.....
hence the dimensions should have been:
Length: 1 13/16
diameter: 1 1/8
bore: 1/2
This being the case, what do I want to be using for housing tubes?
1 1/4 OD 16swg is 28.498mm ID
1 3/8OD 10wg is 28.423mm ID
Anyone used these bushes and know what size stock I need to make the housing tubs from?
Cheers

wouldn't that 0.4mm (or whatever it is) leave too much room for rattling about? or can something like sikaflex be used to take up the slack?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Wouldn't it be tight rather than slack if the the bush is bigger than the hole so to speak!
I have 3ge wishbones which use the same sized bushes as the rally design bushes I can measure the housing tubes properly later when I get back home
Sounds like the 10swg one would do the trick

Yeah they would be tight rather than loose. The guy was obv sat at a desk with some calipers, so whether they were 100% zeroed, or the bushes are
slightly oval or whatever I dont know, cant help feeling they must be imperial dimensions.
If you could measure your tubes that would be great!
I reckon the 10swg tube too, less tendancy to oval when one welds to one side of it, and less likely to cut into the shoulders of the bush under
braking and acceleration. Now all I need to do is find half a metre of it!

If they are the same size as ours, then they sould be 28.5 or 1-1/8" where the fit in to the bush tube.
We supply these seperatly if you require some.

Alister, John the rallydesign bush set is 2mm longer than the 3GE setup being 46mm and not the usual 44mm so this will need to be accounted for
otherwise thay will be short
Mine are:
33.7 od
2.6 wall thickness
28.5 id
35 long
these were supplied by John at 3GE

I know there is a 2mm difference, thats why I was asking about the tube lengths, as Id planned on removing the 2mm from the smaller part of the
tophat.
the raldes bushes have a 4.5mm shoulder, so 35mm tube, plus 9mm of exposed bush is the 44mm book dimensions to fit my brackets.
