Wide tyres

Does anyone know of any road legal (IVA ok) tyres available in 16 &/or 17 inch diameters wider than 245/255?

Profile not too critical but is probs going to be 35 to 45 anyway at that sort of width.

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

335/35R17's wide enough for you??

Search for Khumo V70A - they do really fat tyres in both 16 and 17" size

Aren't you suppose to have the chav "stretched" tyres now? You know, the ones that look as though they've been fitted to rims a few inches too wide!

Have a look here, if you reduce to 15" rims they have some massive tyres.

hmmm tricky!

I can put you in touch with a cheap source of 18" tyres in up to 335 width, but no idea on 16 and 17's

I'm trying to avoid 18's simply due to their height & weight - the 15's would be great except for the price!!

Not just "look as though", they actually have been. An amazingly retarded fad that seems to affect VW owners more than most.
