adjustable steering column / downlink problem
When fitting the triangular end tube of the adjustable column into the down-link clamp it seems to be about an inch too short. The down-link
originally came off a fixed steering column but I swapped the fixed for an adjustable one. Is there a difference in length between the fixed &
adjustable down-links that would cause this? Can the column's triangular tube length be adjusted ?

you do have to extend it remember the sierra column wasnt designed for the locost, MK MNR etc its a best fit design
Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone

Get a good grip on it and give it a good tug... Should make it a bit longer...

I got the extension done by MK but it was when I had the fixed column. I just assumed the fixed & adjustable columns were the the same overall
length.

Disregard. My blond moment is over, gave it a tug and the tube extended. I didn't realize it could adjust fore & aft as well as up &
down.

The adjustable column does come with an extra piece of extension on the connecting length though if you get the complete thing from a Sierra,
It's about 4" long with a UJ and triangle ends to connect to the down link.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
