Brake fluid leak from light switch
Hi all,
Finally decided to blead the brakes today. The back end was a piece of piss, but the front was a bugger. Got it all nearly sorted, then realised that
there is a leak (weaping) from the brake light switch. It is in the front circuit, in a 4 way do dab. One line in from M/C, two out to front brakes,
and switch screwed into the other one. Its screwed in as far as it will go, and still leaks.
Anyone any ideas? Does it need a copper washer or something? I was thinking about making a flare, cutting it off, and shoving it in. Good idea or not?
Or is a short length of pipe best?

Any I have change (which wasn't often they are dead reliable) I would swaer didn't have a washer, and the one I have in my hand from a
series 2 Land-Rover that is is screwed into a 5 way doodah certainly dosen't have a washer.

brake leak
For what is is worth, make sure that the brake switch is a tapered thread, that is what makes the seal,what sort of a tee junction did you use, need
to make sure that both threads are the same . Was caught out the same way, I thing in the end I used a Golf switch and this cured the problem. David

I'll be doing the brakes soon too, I've got the golf switch, how tight do you need to screw it in. The guy who sold it to me said
"just tight and a bit" ?
Coming to think of it how tight do you do any of the brake fittings ? Tend to rely on my torque wrench for everything else, obviously can't use
that on this one.
