Sierra rear calipers
Done a search but not found a definitive answer, (big word or what ?)
Just refitting new rear axle, it came to me converted to solid disc using sierra rear caliper, I would like to ditch these, whats the popular
alternative ? Road use also so need to retain handbrake, would also prefer not to have to re make caliper mounts though axle is not painted yet so if
needs must.........

Golf gti rears are an option, seen them fitted to mk2 escort rally cars before.
UNDERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
OVERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
HORSEPOWER is how fast you hit the wall.
TORQUE is how far you take the wall with you.

Seat, VW jobbies look pretty small simple and neat (so possibly quite light?)
And have handbrake cable pull
If I were converting to rear disk its what I would choose
They are also quite abundant in our yard @ work
I may be able to measure the distance between hole centres if it would help
I guess you would have to make some adapters/shims as the offset is bound to be different unless you strike it lucky by choosing disks that
compensate

mk4 golf calipers! Just done the conversion ourselves. Quite a bit lighter than the sierra's. We used mk2 fiesta discs and made a ally mount to
hold the calipers which clamps onto the axle and is bolted into by the half retaining clamp bolts, which is an alternative to the welded bracket
anyway...

Check the caliper piston bores VW Golf Mk4 calipers are smaller bore than Sierras however the Golf Mk4 Estate has bigger bore calipers.
