CAD models of wheels/tyres
Does anybody have CAD models (STP, IGES, DXF, DWG, Parasolid, UG) of rims and tyres, and willing to send me some? Or is there some database where I
can get it from?
I'm asking because I've got nothing like that yet, and it's easier to modify a model that is close to what you want than starting
from scratch.
Any help will be appreciated!

Rims and tires are pretty simple to draw, i would suggest just drawing your own from scratch. It will take you longer to modify someone elses. The
ones on my model (see avatar) i drew myself. They are not any particular wheel/tire. Just ones that are the right size (maybe a bit small
actually!)
They took about 10mins to make... so its a quick job, compared to bodywork etc...

If you are after a proper x-section of a particular wheel then you''ll probably be in trouble, as none of the manufacturers want to give
it out. This i suspect is because they don't have the profiles on CAD.
I have always just bought the one i think is right and then scanned it, so i can design in all the upright and brake system and make the most of the
packaging environment.
Kind regards,
Darren

Where I come from (truck/bus industry) the tyre- and rim manufacturers actually do give out cross sections, and I'd be surprised if they
don't do that for the car industry as well.
Unfortunately the bus/truck wheels that I use at the job are not useful for my own project, but you triggered me to ask my contact at Michelin if he
can send me models of car tyres as well...
In the meantime I followed David's advice and modelled a simple wheel from scratch. That will do for now.
