escort track rod
Does any one know the thread of the track rod (not the track rod end) of the mk2 escort where is screws in to the rack
I suddenly thought whether the track rod from my BMW rack would fit the escort rack?
The bit i mean is the left hand bit on this pic:

i don't think it screws in anywhere? isn't it a ball joint? so its got a ball on the end of the rod, and there's a sort of cap that
screws over it all to hold it together?

if you look on the picture i put up , there a casing in which the ball sits in, this casing a threaded part, it looks very similar to the BMW unit, so
im hoping they have the same thread

As implied in my earlier post in the thread the steering racks used in all Mks of Escorts was designed around imperial sizes & threads.
I haver never seen a BMW that wasn't fully metric.
