Steering column question. Sierra.

anyone know what this is called

its the steering column bracket with the triangle in.

i need one if anyone has a spare one too.

It's the lower column bearing. Comes as a kit, 2 plastic bits and the rubber.

Hi

It is std Sierra parts so should be available from just about any motor factors for little money or if feeling flush from a ford dealer.

better bet would be to fit a self aligning bearing

Hi

The only reason to fit a self aligning bearing is if the top and bottom mountings are not aligned ( rather obvious ). Which is a common problem to only two manufacturers otherwise the Sierra unit work just fine.
Those self alignment bearings look like something rather agricultural.
And just look at all the extra weight added to those BEC cars.
