Front brake pads.
I've got some EBC Greenstuff pads fitted to the front of my Indy, with EBC grooved 260mm discs and standard Sierra calipers. I know the pedal
will feel hard without a servo but mine feels so "wooden" that it does not inspire confidence. I can lock the wheels up OK but it is the
amount of presure required to do that is the problem. I was thinking of fitting a servo but that is a last resort. The calipers are fine and the car
pulls up straight every time.
Anyone got advice on pad material which might give a better feel, more bite?

Hi Zetec
What mastercylinder are you using? changing bore size can help improve feel.
Also what sort of pedal ratio are you using?

Hi,
What about the softest pad you can get away with , i.e. without brake fade.
I only have standard pads and the pedal is not as wooden as i would like..and with road use have not got near to brake fade.
Overall the brakes work but they dont inspire confidence after servo'd road cars do they!!

Not wrong there Dave! I've got some standard pads which I did'nt need, might stick those in to see if it makes any difference.
I've got standard Sierra m/cyl set up as per MK measurements. I can lock the brakes fine it's just the feel on light to medium braking.
My problem is driving an old bus of a Volvo with brakes that will stop it on a sixpence.

my son races "stock hatch" weve found the best pads for 15 to 30 min races are standard ones, others take too long to come up to temp, you
need brakes in the 1st corner in a stock hatch race, not after the 1st two laps,

Wasn't sure if you had made your own pedal box, if your still having probs after changing the pads try altering the pedal ratio if possible, 6
to 1 is supposed to be about right
