Pug 106 axle height...
Another Q..
I've swapped out the axle on my pug and its slammed on its arse!
I know how to lower it by adjusting the torsion bars but I'm wondering if its as simple as moving both torsion bars the same to get the height
back equal on both sides?

EDIT: there is a point on the rear axle to measure with reference to a bolt on the body IIRC so you can set the bars right in the first place.
It'll be in the haynes for it.

chavtastic !
Haynes says to take it to the dealer, says its beyond the skills of a home mechanic, looking at the above seems they're right for the first
time!
We looked at James's the other night, then packed up and am trying to forget its not right!

Whoever writes the Haynes's nowdays wants shooting.
Trial and error it is then, although every spline of the torsion bar lifts or drops the car by 7mm on A 205 (from rim to wheelarch), so you can take
and educated guess at how many to wind it up by.

Nice info, my lads is an 1" too low on the drivers side so about 4 splines out, after taking the torx screw out and eccentric washers from both
sides does the splined shaft come through to the front and out a bit (out fully on the other side)
Hard to describe!
Coozer kindly sent me this link but it seems different to my lads 106, thats a saxo http://www.badgermotorsport.co.uk/lowering.htm
Good idea about making a dummy shocker though.

If by the 'splined shaft' you mean the torsion bar then yes it should pull out of the splines, at which point you could fully withdraw it
but you need only disengage the splines and move the trailing arm up by the desired amount and reinsert it.
Hope that makes sense, best of luck,

Yeh it does, it was the eccentric washers that we couldnt get out, reckon more lube required!
