Fitting a quick release steering wheel - Boss needed! (now with PICS)

I need to purchase a Steering wheel boss for sierra that either can be shortened or is very short to start with, so i can fit a quick release boss to it with out bringing the steering wheel to far forward

Not sure what year i need but i bought one and it doesnt fit past the steering wheel lock, how do i tell the age of column?

Any one got a spare, im fitting a quick release boss so dont need the colapsable part or the rubber cover.

can anyone direct me? suppliers wont risk sending the wrong one and most are £55 bloomen quid surely i can get one cheaper

Kris

Pics.....

Current Steering Wheel (sierra)

Current Column (sierra)

New Steering Wheel and Quick Release Rage Boss (6 x 70mm PCD on boss flange)

...as you can see the boss is quite deep, about 3 inches so i need the slimmest boss to fit between this and the column ,

I bought this one below marked up as FORD Et35 but its way to small and hits steering lock, i would order another if i was sure its the right one and i would prefer one with a colapsable part that i can remove to make it more slim line

Most if not all 'quick release' gizmos have serious slop /play in them. Splined ones have a bit less. But still not great solidity.

can you not get an old sierra wheel and cut the spokes through, have it machined to a flat disk and drilled. Im sure a machine shop would do it for £55 quid and then you know its perfect
