Hybrid 7.5 inch 3.14 open to 3.14 LSD? Is it possible?
Hi all, i was after a bit of info. I am one of the luckly ones that had a 7.5 inch with Lobro shafts 3.14 Ratio diff on my Donar, i understand these
are like rocking horse poo! Anyway, can i put the interals of a LSD out of say a 2wd cossie or Granada Scorpio in my open diff? Will it change the
ratio?
Thanks.

Sweet...... i take you have to use the crown wheel from the 3.14 and it would have to be a 7.5 inch LSD?

I swapped out the 3.64 crown wheel and pinion (these are a matched pair) for a 3.14 on my 7" diff, not a problem doing this.
If your 3.14 is from a 7" diff it will not fit a 7.5" body!
have a look here

Use the crown wheel and pinion from the 3.14, in either a 7.5" ford viscous lsd diff
or better still stick a quaife torsen lsd or tran-x plate lsd in your existing open diff
(assuming they are available? IIRC on the 7" diff, quaife only did an lsd for push in shafts, although that
might be old news now)

The diff i have is a 7.5 inch well i believe it is... it measures 7.5" across the of the alloy casing that expects two bolts either side. Axle
code M on the VIN Plate. So it seams a straight foward swap. Thanks for the info guys.
