Caterham Tyres
Hello Forum!
I was talking to an existing member Steve Hignet who suggested I register and post my question to this forum: So here goes,
I have a 2003 Caterham Roadsport which started life as an Academy Car and then ran in the 2006 Graduates Championship. I have now finished racing for
the time being and have been using the car as a Track day toy. It now has a BGH Gearbox and the Emerald conversion courtesy of Dave Andrews (155 bhp
ish).
The car has been flat floored.
I currently use Yoko 048 but have been thinking of using Slicks and wondering about a set of second hand Michelin 16/53-13 Slicks from the Formula
Renault series.
So my question is, is it essential to re-set the camber angles for slicks or can I keep them as they are (F 3 degree neg, toe out 0.5 deg: R 0).
Any help appreciated!

Can't really help on the geometery except that it is genarally accepted that radial slicks need more camber than standard radial tyres. I
don't think it matters as much with crossply slicks.
How much more I really don't know 3 degrees is a fair amount in any case. Someone with more knowledge will be along soon no doubt.
By the way, I have four Michelin 16/53 x 13 that are ex Formula Renault. I never atcually fitted them and I have just sold the car. I was thinking
about selling the tyres - £55 if you're interested and I'll be at Stoneleigh both days.
