What wheels to get
As I'm putting a Honda S2000 engine in my locost, I'm going to need to be able to put the power down. Now I know friction is independent
of surface area, but stiction isn't, so how wide should I have my rears? Equally what is a good width for the fronts?
I will end up with wilwoods, or another light 4 pot caliper up front, with, most probably, the standard sierra handbrake at the rear.
What are the lightest wheels out there? Budget is probably around £450 for new, maybe £500 if that's what it takes.
Your thoughts and suggestions please!

What size dia. wheels do you want?
For 15" wheels a lot of people go for the Team Dynamics pro race 1.2, as they are light wheels at a more sensible price.
Obviously a lightweight 13" will be lighter than a lightweight 15", but depending on the wheel, and the rear caliper setup you cant always
fit 13" wheels on the rear

You also have to allow for tyre weight, allthough you save on wheel weight, to keep the same rolling dia you end up with slightly more rubber on a 13.
Not much in it I guess, but still worth adding up if your desperate to shave every last gram!

I thought the general consensus was that 13's gave the best handling and the most nimble feel. I'll be using ford fitment, so the
r500's won't be applicable to me will they?

you also dont need the same rolling wheel and tyre circumference as a 15" wheel/tyre. the s2000 has a 4.1 diff so the 13" wheels should
help to gear it down a bit,
kuhmo do a 235/45/13 if you want fat rears

Yeah, I need to change the ratio in my ford diff. As far as I know there is no 4.1 option, but there is a 4.44. I'm hoping this won't make
the ratios too short!
