bent wheel question

hi all,
i am temporarily using the steel wheels from donor, had them painted, went to put tyres and baçance, couldn't balçance due to poor condition of wheels...I had tried to repair but are a bit out , need a pro job they said.
So, question is, would it be unsafe/stupid to drive like that for a short time at limited speeds?

how bent are they? As long as the bead seating area is ok then there should be no problem. We have run alloys with chunks of rim broken off on a rally car through the forest before with no problems!

Also, are the balancing centre fobbing you off? A good whack with a copper lump hammer can take a pretty bad dint out of a wheel, certainly enough to balance it.
