Sierra Steering rack - 'dust cap' ?

I am in the process of putting my steering rack back in the car after having changed to a 2.7 ratio.

I have cleaned off the old paint and going to treat it to a fresh coat of Hammerite. However, there is what appears to be a 'dust' cap that I guess should be a nice snug fit on the rack, covering the pinion retaining nut and pinion. Mine is a very loose fit and has started to crack.

Can these be purchased new? Or does anyone have one lying around.

It is the do-nut shaped item on the diagram below near the pinion

Mine was just the same, dumped it, and had no problems in nearly 10K of miles traveled. HTH Ray
