New Gaz shocks leaking
Ok I say new They have been in the box under the bed for two years and sat on the car for 18 months but they have done less than 10 miles.
Any one offer any advice or details on how I can get this sorted. Ive only just scrapped the iva fee together this is going to put me back to square
one.

Ist thought is can you borrow a set of shocks off some one local for the IVA? I would lend you a set but I'm a long way away!
Seals in shocks etc don't like to be left static, the rubber tends to stick to the shaft and then tear when you first move them, this may be
what has happened to yours.

One of mine did that and I contacted DamperTech who I got them from. They said clean it and see how it goes on as sometimes there's some over
fill that initially leaks out. I was sceptical but it's been fine ever since. If it hadn't been Ok they said they'd swap it.

I had ^this too. I cleaned it off and it's been fine since, fingers crossed.

Welcome to the club, my set leaked and the only way to get them fixed* was to send them back to gaz and PAY for them to be serviced 
* they leaked straight away when i got them back, cost about £150 and had only covered about 100miles, i would NEVER buy any gaz products agen

One of mine leaked slightly. Sent it to gaz with a letter explaining that they were 7 years old but never been used. They replaced the seal and topped
it up FOC, it came back 2 days after it was initially posted! Very good customer service.

I agree with adithorp. I got mine from Dampertech, had them fitted on the car still sat in the garage being built, and I noticed a line of rust around
one of the piston rods. They told me to send it back and they would check it out.
Turns out it was a manufacturing issue and looked like it was a piece of rod used that would normally be thrown away. Looked like the device they used
to grip the rod had not taken the chroming properly and so rusted through eventually. They changed it for a new unit no questions asked, and were very
quick in the turn around. Very helpful guys I found.
It looks like the Midget is winning at the moment......

Yep they had a large batch of poor quality rods that gave problems with the seals. Check for pitting on the rods also.

Well I have had a look and the oil was coming past the seal on the damper knob. Ive adjusted it back and fourth a few times and it seams to have
stoped for now.
With a bit of look it will get me through iva and I will swap it out over the winter.
