Upper Ball Joint
As I'm nearing booking for IVA, I'm getting really picky with stuff and finding lots of odds and sods, so apologies for lots of posts
I have got a set of front cycle wings that are held on brackets supported by the lower caliper mounting bolt and underneath the upper wishbone
balljoint. The problem is, the length of the balljoint thread means that when the mount is in place, the bolt is only just level with the top of the
locknut (I have already thinned the support bracket as best I can). I am worried that mr IVA will fail it because there is not a whole thread
showing?
I really don't want to start major modification to the supports because they are really solid, and this close to IVA I really don't want
to be fannying around any more than necessary
Any ideas guys?
BTW, they are transit balljoints as per the Locost build.

I have no access to a reamer, so not sure it would be a solution to me?

What you want is one of these.... take the hub off put it in the vice. and very slowly start twisting the reamer in the balljoint hole, It's
important you keep it straight and have a steady hand whilst applying pressure. You will be surprised how easy it tapers! Have your balljoint to hand
to check the taper as its easy to go to far. A little tip is to use cutting paste but I just sprayed some WD40 to lubricate it whilst doing it.
