Sierra Steering Rack
Has anyone use an unmodified Sierra rack and have a picture to prove it?

I've not, but I have a standard Sierra rack and it's too long even for my +4" chassis.
Main problem seems to be that the shaft where the steering column connects is too far to one end of the rack. The steering column would have to fall
outside of the chassis on a standard width Locost, and on mine it fell directly inline with one of the FU tubes.

so prolly best to go with a recon escort rack and extensions. Other than shortening the sierra rack, are there any alternatives? Complete racks from
other marques perhaps.

Chris,
I originally got both an Escort Mk2 rack and a Sierra one and as Mike said, the Sierra one is way too long even on my +4" chassis. The escort
one is a perfect fit provided you get track rod extensions. GTS do extensions although I got a set made up by "type907" from the forum.
By the way, the reconditioned rack I got was only about £30 exchange.
Cheers,
Craig.

I didn't have any problems actually, there are still a large number of club level rally drivers using Escort Mk2's. Even if you
can't find a rack to use in exchange you can always pay the surcharge which IIRC was about £15.
Cheers,
Craig.

I have an escort rack, but foolishly took a hack saw to the track rods before finding that they're a little tricky to get hold of. I've
been given some suggestions at to where I can pick some up, but also have a complete sierra rack doing nothing in the garage. Anyone think that
it's likely that someone will accept an incomplete rack as an exchange?
