Wets on a cold dry track?
How quickly would Racing wets, on a 450kg RWD BEC kit car go off on a cold dry track? The reason i ask, my car has wets on. The track day is in
November so im hoping its a wet day but if it isnt......would i have issues using the tyres on a cold dry track? I know they are not ideal
but.....
Cheers

This question does need answering because it WILL be dry on the 17th, i dont have wets!!
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

10 x 13 on a BEC !!!!!!!!! The RGB guys run 6" or 7" I think. Not surprised you are struggling.

RGB is restricted to A048R tyres (which have a limited width range) and wheels of 7inch width so not really a valid datapoint.

We run 9 x 13 on our bikesports car on the rear axle.
Personally i wouldnt run wets unless its pissing it down or very wet. Wets tend to get destroyed very quickly if its dry.
PS Give me a u2u if your interested in some slicks suitable for 10 x 13 for a very good price

Most of the top locaterfields (bike engined or not) run 9 or 10x13 rear wheels with 9" wide slicks. The wider you go the more temperature
control you get, so the softer compound you can run.

As Eddie said, generally speaking if it's dry the compound of 'most' wets worth using in the wet will be munched very fast -
especially given the small tread block size.
