Pedal positions

Hopefully i've cured my brake problems thanks to AdrianH. seems my push rod wasn't long enough to get the full travel. With full travel now available just before the pedal hits the bulkhead.

This now means that my brake pedal sits about 1 1/2 inches behind the brake and clutch pedal.

Just wondering if I should adjust the other two to the same position. I've heard that some people set their brake pedal proud so it is easy to find quickly.

Just wondering how everyone had set theirs up??

I think its standard to have clutch and brake slightly higher than accel. Thats how most tintops are. However the wifes megane is so much lower I find I often catch the side of the brake pedal when going from accel to brake, which can be a pain!

Set mine level so that I can ,heel and toe, when braking hard for a corner and changing down the gears at the same time.

On something like a Locost with its small pedalbox (and on most smaller cars) you only need to use the side of your foot to blip the throttle rather than your heel, so it's easier if the brake and throttle are somewhat level when the brake pedal is pushed, like many tintops are.

That must make it harder to heel and toe as once the brakes pressed you would have to angle your foot to try and come back up to press the accel. As above, you want them to be level when the brake slightly depressed for the best heel and toe positioning.
