GAZ shocks and springs settings
Evening all,
Until I can find the money to get the suspension set up professionally, I have gaz shocks and springs and could do with some advice on setting it up
for general fast road use. I have the shocks on the softest and the springs wound up about a third.
The ride was, well I don't really have anything to compare it to.
So any advice gratefully received.
Thanks
Andy

I had mine checked by ProComp, and the 'effective range' (ie the places where turning the dial actually does anything to change the
response) is no where near the full range of clicks. I think mine are all 'effective' between 3-9 clicks, and I have mine wound off to the
softest working click (if that makes sense!).

It's a bit heavy to buy a set of scales from B&Q to corner weight, just winding the springs up a third is not a great option for handling
really.
Jack the car up in the middle of the chassis at the front then using a bit I of wood 4.5" high, driver in seat and adjust the rear springs so
the car sits level at the rear (block of wood is much easier than a tape measure to determine chassis to ground distance).
Now reverse and repeat using a 4" block of wood for the front, this should get your corner weights and ride height very close for single
driver.
Regards Mark

Gaz shocks on mine, my normal road settings are zero clicks rear and 4 clicks front. That's more about comfort than handling tbh, on the
occasional trackday I've done in the past two or three more clicks all round seemed to give best results.

My gaz shocks do around 25 clicks? I started on the hardest (bad idea) and I'm slowly reducing each time I go out on the car.
Currently the fronts are at 13 and the backs are at 11.
I've adjusted by 1 or 2 clicks each time, and can honestly say I've noticed a difference in harshness each time.
