Master cylinder - which one
Hi, I’m building a velocity which will be Ford based and I would like to buy a pair of master cylinders as cheaply as possible. I can get car
components through the trade at discount but I don't know what the master cylinders are from. Do you know what model type they are or what car
they are from?

I was gonna ask same thing as i just got a velocity XT kit and this is one of the first jobs !, i managed to pick up a 0.625" Girling off ebay
cheap but still need the 0.7" everywhere seem to be about the same price but my local motor factors reckon if i can give him a Girling part no.
he may be able to get cheaper ? cant seem to find a part no. though ? Anyone ?

Guys, the parts you are looking for are clutch master cylinders. They can be used on the brake system of a small car purely because the line pressures
are very low.
They are available from most kit car parts suppliers and come in around £30 each new - available in several sizes from 15.9mm to 19.05mm bore.

Wilwood makes some nice aftermarket stuff.
I'm sure you can find some sort of fit.

1- 260-3374 3/4 bore is 62.50

1-270-2016 Quick release steering hub 3/4 inch shaft 24.31
U.S.P.S economy 4-6 week 48.00
Total = 294.40

Hillman imps also used these , if i remeber correctly there was a .625 for brakes and .750 for the clutch .These were Girling manufactured and you may
be able to find a part number for them.

I've got a girling 0.70 master cylinder in front of me. The only number I can find is on the lug between the two ports which is as follows: BS2
(could be 8S2?) 64673554.
I don't know if this is a part no. or a casting no.

I have fitted 2 Girling master cylinders to my floor pedal assembly. £28 plus VAT from Kit car builder solutions.
Trial fit last night and the length of the input shaft seems a tad long and causes the ped al to point down. Is the idea to trim the shaft to length
to get the pedal to sit upright? Seems to be about 50mm of thread avaliable.
Any advice?
