Escort English but Capri english is a better width -- 2 inches wider.

Isn't the Marina lighter than the English? Not sure there will be many in Belgium though. But then again the Capri English is a rare beastie as well.

The 1.3 marina might be but there it won't be more than a couple of pounds and that will all be in the diff carrier, the casing may actually be thicker than the Escort which is paper thin. Ital/Marina 1.7/1.8/2 litre has heavier shafts --- both use a 3.75" PCD as per Triumph

Hillman Hunter range axle is very similar to Escort.

A lighter Escort axle can be got at the £150+fitting cost of an alloy diff carrier.

Maby i did'nt specify my question enough but what i meant was the lightest live axle available not neccesarely for a locost.I've found a Reliant live axle which seems much lighter (and smaller!) than the ususal stuff (Escort Capri,Volvo etc...)

Probably the Reliant. I wouldn't put too much power through it.

Trike tackle.

They tend to use them on shaft driven trikes. I don't know what kind of power they will handle but they do seem to go forever.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
