Newbie in need of advice
Hello All.
I'm a newbie that's currently building....ok ATTEMPTING to build my first locost. I have the engine I want..... ok no I haven't I
cant afford even a scrap ferrarri but I have an engine that looks good, ran good (I drove the donor) but I have a question that I'm hoping
you'll be able to give me some advice on.
The Engine in question is from an Alfa 33 cloverleaf.... FRONT wheel drive. but I dont see anyway of using the front hubs unless I weld some steel
connectors on to them for the suspension. Would this be safe? If not would it be possible to to use the axels and hubs from another car and somehow
connect them to this engine?
Answers on a postcard.....

I think the 7 was designed to be rwd only (apart from the odd few who go 4wd) and has been designed that way.
Pat...

This one will be to... the engine will be at the back, needless to say I've modified the design of the chassis as a structual engineer I was
happy doing that...... but my mechanical engineering skills arn't as up to scratch.

Suggest instead of looking athe Locost design you take a good look at a Davrian/Darrian or Clan/Clover
The steel chassised Ginetta G15 may also be of intetest..

Get yourself over to the 'mid-engined' section!
You won't have a problem getting the driveshafts you need to run different hubs, BTW. There are plenty of companies out there that can offer
conversions (e.g. Alfo driveshaft inner/Ford outer).
Best Regards,
Steve.
