CV joints - GKN fast boots ?

3 out of 4 of my cheap CV boots have split before the car has even been on its wheels
(they came with the recon joints and had sat on the shelf for a few years)

so I'm looking to replace them with some decent quality ones - ideally I'd get the genuine GKN ones (MS6K012 - ie for 100mm / Size 12 lobro's) but they are proving a little tricky to find any in stock...

but plenty of places sell the 'fast boots' (MS6K024) and weirdly enough demon thieves are selling them for about the same price as cheap unbranded 'slow boot' ones

this would make things easier on the dax too as one of the boots needs to run very close the the a-frame (the current one is the only one that hasn't split and it just fits by pure luck as it came from the same source as the others but is a different style)

so before I order these is there any issue with running these 'fast boots' / any reason the slow ones would be better ?
(obviously the dax will never do the same mileage as a tin-top)

I used the GKN fast boots on my spitfire (CV jointed rear end) and they were brilliant. On the car a few years, and now living on a friends car (since I swapped to a scooby diff)
IIRC I paid about £18 each, and that was 7 years ago.

I refurbed my donor Sierra driveshafts, but stripped them apart and fitted genuine boots from Ford. They never leaked or split for me. More work to strip them right down, but very pleasing once the job was done.

I'd never heard of those guys, but there site is the only one lat seems to list GKN slow boots in that size (although they only have 3 in stock)

Demon thieves seem to only be asking £12+VAT for fast ones at the moment (about 1/2 of what anyone else wants)

^^ they wouldn't be much good to me without the metal flanges to mount them to though
my current ones are all the more modern crimped on style ratehr than separate flanges and boots
