Wishbone diagrams
Does anyone have a set of diagrams showing measurements for the wishbones which will allow the same trackwidth as the Sierra De Dion rear? I know this
is wider than the standard track wodth and I therefore can't use the standard wishbones.
I also would like the 22mm off centre top wishbone to allow for the 5 ish degrees castor for self centering.

All you need to do is find out how much wider the sierra track is than the 'book' track...(4" about right?) Then add half this to
the length of each wishbone. The mounting points, and offsets will be the same (although i believe a different offset is required for the sierra
uprights?), just the wishbones will be a bit longer.
You can of course just use standard width front wishbones and put up with the track difference front/rear. Afaik several people are running this set
up, and i dont think the small track difference makes any difference to the handling, if it does its only very slight and you would probably not
notice it anyway!

If you want to make your own I would advise you buy a set of lower wishbone plates from either GTS or MNR using these it is very easy to build a set
of lower wishbones for a wide track car.

Thanks for that mate - may try standard width and using cortina uprights (is this right) then there are no silly changes and it'll just work.
Got a MKII escort steering rack today so that'll work right too.

The silly changes are the best
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

As you know...you need to make the top wishbone offset 22mm for cortina uprights. Other than that design is as 'book'.

Or even..........
If you are going to make your own upper wishbones take the opportunity to design them to allow the brackets to be better situated.

If you know any people who take part in banger racing they should be able to salavge you a pair from one of their cortina wrecks. I dont know where
they find the cars to be honest, but there are still loads raced.
