Diff/Axle ID
Hi,
Can anyone help? I've got a cortina axle with the following tag attached to the diff.
L3CD 3.54 ??
75AG4004AGM
Can anyone tell me what model this came off so i can order some brake parts?
All help appreciated
Cheers
Matt

OK - I now think that this is the diff from an escort and am wondering whether i have an escort or cortina axle! What are the lengths of cortina axles
hub to hub?

Mk2 Escort is 48" IIRC.
Got a pic?

Capri is roughly 52" between backplates but has the bolt on diff cover. That has spring hangers so if it's Cortina it's not mk3.
Also the trailing arm brackets are well out so it may have been fitted to a wider chassis.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

It looks VERY similar to mine, but the diff is different, mine is an atlas so it 'must' by a timken? My guess would be a 2.0 Mk2-3 capri
(3.54 ratios in the 2.0's). Someone has even notched the stiffening land to fit a book chassis
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

The axle's from mnr racing! If i turn one wheel in the drive direction the other turns in the opposite direction. Does this mean that the axle
is non LSD?
cheers

Looks like an Escort axle to me, which has been modified to accept vertical turrets and a panhard rod, both common Escort modifications.
