Fitting helper springs
The front springs on my Fury are loose at full droop, so I've bought some helper springs and seats to sort it.
Slight issue though - the coil bound length of the helper spring is only 7.5mm. The helper spring seat has a lip of 6mm height, which means the seats
will clash with the spring platforms on my Protech Shocks when the helper is coil bound. Faulkener suggest turning down the lip on their seats to
resolve this.
I need a relatively quick fix, and don't have access to a lathe. I'm sure I've heard of people lock wiring the helpers to the main
springs. Any quick fixes out there?
Cheers,
Jek

Any reason why you couldn't just fit the correct length springs?

That's what I thought originally, but changing spring length doesn't help unfortunately. The only quick fix would be to increase ride
height.

Could you not limit travel in Droop??
I think it has been done with straps (not elegant) or Mechanical stops.
HTH.
Beware of what you wish.. for it may come true....

Thanks for the offer Matt....In the end I trimmed the lips on the existing collar and spacer down so they don't clash.
It took a while with a hacksaw and a file, but the helper springs are now fitted and doing their job as intended.
