English axle - replacement diff pan source?
Hi folks. For another, non-Locost, project I have a genuine MK2 RS2000 English axle.
The diff pan (the pressed steel part welded to the axle casing) is damaged.
Does anywhere sell a replacement weld-on pan? I know from my Land Rover projects that it’s a tricky, but doable job but I haven’t been able to find a
source for English axle pans. Alternatively if any of the rally specialists do them it might be quicker just to send them the axle casing for a
refurb.
Thank you.
PS: the RS2000 diff pan had a little u-shaped hoop welded onto it and I can’t for the life of me picture what it was for: any ideas?

The U hoop. normally has a rubber insert, and its for the handbrake rod to slide into, and align
as the handbrake cable only goes to one side
Thats was probably spelt wrong, or had some grammer, that the "grammer police have to have a moan at

Guys - thank you very much! That answers the loop query.
On the casing, I’m now kicking myself: I had seen that advert but just saw the pics of the fabricated housing. As this is a restoration I wanted an
original look - which is exactly what they offer in the blurb. Just called them and they can supply exactly what I need.
That’s all the answers I needed. Thank you.
