Fixed speedo, broke clutch cable

Spent a couple of hours today making up a nice new bracket to hold my speedo sender after the old one proved to be too flimsy and kept breaking senders.

To celebrate thought I'd take it for a bit of a spin - after queuing in traffic for ages I was just coming up to a clear bit of road, put the clutch pedal down to put it into gear and BANG! clutch pedal goes straight to the floor, cable had frayed all the way through and snapped (after only about 200 miles on the road!). So now I've gotta have a rummage to see if I've got another knocking about and fit it.

Anyone else had this problem with an Indy? I think the cable may have been rubbing on the tube that holds the cable as it comes through the bulkhead and worn it away. So now I'll have to find some way of stopping the same thing happening to the new one - any ideas?

Cheers

Pete

Welded a thick {4mm} washer to the tube through bulkhead at the correct angle to run inner cable exactly through center of tube , this should stop cable from chaffing but as car is not yet on road don't know if it will work.

Unfortunately I can't weld but I might be able to do something similar. I don't think I can really come up with a solution until I've had a proper look, so that's my day tomorrow planned out!

Yeah that sounds good, have you got any pics of it?

I found one on the November page of your site but I can't really tell how it looks because it's in place.

Cheers
