question on sierras
someone recently told me that old xr4x4s didnt have the LSD - but that that the diff he was refering to was off a 2.9 car. These are the newer ones
anyway, arent they? can anyone confirm if its true, that old 4x4s arent LSD? cos ive found an F reg one that i can get cheap, only worth having if its
LSD.
the ideal answer will be 'i have broken an f reg 4x4 and it did/didnt have an LSD'
cheers

The xr4i which I broke had a 3.62 open diff and 10" drum brakes(and push in drive shafts)
I understand that XR4x4's had 3.62 LSD's except the 2.0 which had a 3.92 LSD

ps As you know Joel I have an XR4i diff which I want to get rid of. I also have a 3.62 Lsd for sale if you are interested

thats what i thought guys, i think the fella just described it as a 4x4 back end to make it sell better, not realising there were specific
differences.
still, gives me hope that this other one will be LSD too

I just fitted an xr4x4 diff from a 2.9 L car. Is this supposed to be a 3.62 diff because I changed it from a 3.9 open diff and couldn't realy
tell any difference.
Either I cant tel the difference as the change in speeds is so little
or the new diff is actually a 3.9
or the old open diff (from a 2L saphire) was not a 3.9 but actually a 3.62.
any thoughts?
thanks
