Lockheed master cylinder.
I don't know if this is the right place to post this but.......
I have just taken the MC off my car and cleaned it using a Vapormat machine. It was all rusty and it is now shiney. It looks better than new. A sort
of satin chromed finish. But.......the machine has highlighted the state of the bottom of the fluid reservoir. It is all holey.
I was intending to uprate the MC at some point, and, now seems like a good time!
It is a 3/4" lockheed unit that bolts to the servo with two studs horizontally. It is the one with a single line out and the tin reservoir and
plastic (small) screw-on top. I assume it's a Ford item as most of the running gear is?
Quezzy is, is there a direct replacement dual circuit unit? Price and availability?
I cannot get any piccies on until I get home from work tomorrow.
Any info will be greatfully received. Cheers.

Here's a similar one!
This is off an MG Midget. The mounting holes are at 45degrees on this one whereas on mine they are horizontal.
Someone must have some suggestions???

Suspect a single line master cylinder will not pass SVA , Hasn't been used for a number of years as dual curcuit cylinders are the norm

I don't need an SVA as I am well documented! But I do still want a dual system if possible. I have some MC's but they have different
mounting holes. I could always swap the servo etc but easier is best when you are lazy!!

Not a Ford car part -- Ford UK cars always used Girling although some Transit vans were Lockheed.
0.75" was a normal bore size for UK cars from the late 60s to to the 80s but most had vertical bolt holes - horizontal bolt holes generally
indicate the cylinder bolted to a servo.
You will be pushed to find a mastercylinder with horizontal bolt holes and a 0.75" bore closest you will probably get easily is 21mm as used on
Escorts, Sierras, Polos, Golfs. Although some early VW Polos and Golfs were 19mm

Cheers Britishtrident. The MC is bolted to a servo. I think I'll junk the servo/MC and start again!
