Nuts!

What size are the BIG nuts that hold the front hub on? I've measured it at 40mm but the socket sets have a 41mm socket. Wil that be OK?
Also what size the nut on the rear drive shaft?

Cheers

Steve

Hi Steve,

On my Sierra XR4x4 donor the rears were 41mm socket. I measured it at 40mm, went and bought a 40mm socket and it was too small!

41mm did the job fine though.

Mart.

Dunno if it helps but I got mine from my local fastenings place.

Hard to find in 1/2" drive though. I had to get a 3/4" drive socket and a reducer to use it with a 1/2" drive bar.

Mart.

The parts shop sells them in 1/2" drive for the Sierra bearing nuts, I bought one a couple of weeks ago. Laser or Silverline tools do them. One here better than buying a 3/4" drive set you'll only use one socket out of.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
