willwood brake conversion

I received my brake kit today from mach1, I was advised that when I fit the discs and calipers to make sure that the disc runs dead central to the caliper, if it didnt I was told to use washers to space out the caliper from the mounting assembly on the upright, however I need to do the opposite and move the caliper the other way, only problem is I cant move it the other way so ive had to use 4 washers of about 2-3 mm straight over the wheel studs and mount the disc on top, this has given me the centre alignment of the disc to the caliper, I still have 13 turns on each wheel nut and the wheel still locates on the hub, but im not sure about the disc being away from the hub??? any ideas???

One thought which springs to mind, is that there will be less heat dissapation from disk through hub now, and hot spots on the studs where the heat soaks to the cooler component, the hub.

Read this thread. For what its worth, we've just milled 1.5mm off the caliper bracket which bolts to the hubs. These are Hi-Spec calipers though not Wilwoods, so I'm not sure how easy it is for you to do something similar.

Thanks for that hellfire, I must have missed that thread, I think Ill see if I can get the brackets machined down, I cant help thinking that the brackets were machined wrong in the first place, the locating hole for the caliper is offset the wrong way, I cant turn it round because the bolts are recessed in the bracket, I think Ill phone mach 1 in the morning, Theyre really helpfull.

When do I get promoted from 'junior builder' I hate it!!
