Nuts and bolts supplier (and a bolt question)

Anyone know a good supplier for nuts and bolts? Specifically I need a load of M10 70mm bolts, M10 nuts, a load of various washers and (the bit I'm having problems with) some M10 left handed nuts. These all need to be suitable for use on suspension, specifically holding wishbones and trailing arms on to a seven type car.

Bolt question... I have a suspension piece with a threaded bolt hole in M12 size however, the bolt I need to go into it must be an M10. How can I reduce this hole in size? Could I use something like a heliocoil? The bit in question is the bolt hole on my dedion axle that I wish to bolt my panhard rod to and one the end of the panhard rod is a rode joint with an M10 hole.

Thanks,

Mark

Without changing the thing with the m12 hole in, you can't really get down that far. Going up is easy, down is hard for something like this. Helicoils are best used as thread replacements. Is it possable to change the rod end to one with an m12 hole?

I guess so although the end of the panhard rod has an M10 1.5 thread so I'd need one to match that although that would be easier to drill out and tap as a 12... hmm.

Cheers,

Mark

I used to use a company called FWB to source all my fixings. Very good, with massive stocks. Although a trade supplier, they will sell small quantities over the counter for cash.
The branch I used was in Liverpool. I don't know if they have a branch near your neck of the woods.
Try the internet thingy.
Hope this helps.

I got most of my nuts and bolts from Screwfix (M10 x 70mm specifically) - They are mushc cheaper than Namrick for off the shelf stuff and the quality is very good. You do need to buy boxed quantities but it's no great expense and you can always sell the excess on ebay...

Namrick are good for non-metric sizes and some of the less common stuff.

On the panhard rod issue, if I were you I'd take a bit of M12 studding (threaded rod) and turn it down on a lathe to 10mm for the rod end and then thread the end then you could fit this to the axle and then pop the panhard rod over the end with a spring washer or nyloc to hold it on. Just make sure you get the threading done professionally to ensure it is as good as possible. Shouldn't cost much and is a simple design.

HTH,
Craig.
